“Atomic Yard Sale”
A One Night Only Event Celebrating Doomsday Kiss
LOS ANGELES – REPO division & Bootleg Theater present a thrilling evening of live music, performance, film, fashion and art. In a one night only event LA artists come together to riff on the epic theme of doomsday, conceiving and producing original art, fashion, poetry, and performance pieces for one wicked party. Mushroom cloud included.
With live performances by F-Stop Serenade: featuring hand processed 16mm silent films by Cosmo Segurson with live musical accompaniment; a comedy performance by The Amazing Matt Morgan, and poetry readings with projection accompaniment by Reina Prado and Theresa Sotto.
And what would some of Los Angeles’ most intriguing artists do with the assignment ‘Doomsday’? Sandy Rodriguez curates an extensive gallery show, which includes sculpture, painting, found objects, shoes, photography, fashion and more. All wearable art and art objects donated for sale by the artists (price range $20+).
Featuring Visual Artists: Sandy Rodriguez: painting and wearable doomsday art; Derrick Maddox: found objects sculpture; Anne Martens: fashion inspired sculptural works; Isabelle Lutterodt: photographs; Victor Wilde: fashion; Theresa Sotto: poetry and projections; Reina Prado: poetry and wearable art;; Rebeka Rodriguez: photography; Aaron Acord: doomsday backdrop; Stephanie Sea; photography; Armando H. Torres: shoes and Special Surprise Guests.
Featuring Musicians: Mike Ehuler: Stand-up Bass; James King: Saxophone, Penny whistle, flute; Heather Lockie: Viola; Noah Smith: Percussion; Mark Cosmo Segurson: Hammond organ, Toy piano, Therimin.
The mission behind the REPO division is to bring together artists from disparate backgrounds and disciplines to create new and exciting work. All proceeds of this event benefit the April world premiere of “Doomsday Kiss”, a co-production between the REPO division and the Bootleg Theater.
The Atomic Yard Sale is a one time only event, Sunday, January 18th at 8pm at the Bootleg Theater at 2220 Beverly Blvd, Los Angeles CA 90057. There is a $10 donation at the door. No reservations are necessary. Cash bar. FREE parking is available to Bootleg customers behind the Praise Christian Fellowship Church across the street from Bootleg at 2235 Beverly Blvd.
